About this policy

WakeLens is an object-matching alarm for Android, published by AtomCoder (Richie McMullen). This privacy policy applies to the WakeLens app, package name com.wakelens.wakelens, and the WakeLens website at wakelens.sites.forgedbase.com.

WakeLens has no user accounts and does not operate a developer-controlled backend for app data. We do not collect, sell or use personal information for advertising, profiling or analytics.

What stays on your device

WakeLens stores the information needed to create alarms, recognise your chosen objects and remember your settings. This can include:

• alarm times, repeat days, enabled status, labels, sounds and snooze settings;
• the names of objects you choose for alarm dismissal;
• reference photos used to recognise those objects;
• morning challenge photos used for an object match; and
• app preferences and permission choices.

This information is stored locally using Android app storage and device services. It is not uploaded to AtomCoder or ForgedBase.

Matching happens locally

WakeLens uses the camera when you take reference photos during object setup and when you photograph the chosen object to dismiss an alarm. Image comparison is performed on your device.

Reference photos remain on your device so WakeLens can perform future matches. Morning challenge photos are used locally for the current recognition attempt. WakeLens does not transmit these images to AtomCoder, ForgedBase, an advertising network or a cloud image-recognition service.

How WakeLens uses Android features

WakeLens may request or use the following Android permissions and device capabilities to provide features you choose:

• Camera: captures reference and morning challenge photos for on-device object matching.
• Exact alarms and full-screen alarm display: schedules alarms at the selected time and presents the ringing alarm when the device is locked or another app is open.
• Notifications and foreground service: keeps an active alarm visible and running, including while WakeLens is in the background.
• Wake lock and vibration: wakes the device when required and provides the alarm behaviour you selected.
• Start after device restart: restores and reschedules enabled alarms after Android restarts.
• Notification policy access: may be used, when you explicitly allow it, to support alarm behaviour alongside your device’s Do Not Disturb settings.
• Media or file access on supported Android versions: may be used to access an alarm sound you select. WakeLens does not upload or inspect unrelated files.

You can review or revoke permissions in Android settings. Some WakeLens features may not work without the permissions they require.

No sale of personal data

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. WakeLens does not include advertising or analytics SDKs and does not send alarm details, object names or photos to developer servers.

If you choose to leave an optional tip through the app, Google Play processes the purchase using your Play account and payment method. WakeLens receives the product identifier and purchase status needed to complete the transaction, but AtomCoder does not receive your full payment-card details. Google handles purchase information under its own privacy terms.

Android and your device manufacturer provide the operating-system services used for alarms, notifications, permissions, camera access and local storage. Their handling of device and account information is governed by their own privacy terms.

You control local data

Alarm settings, app preferences and reference photos remain on your device until you change or delete them, clear WakeLens data through Android settings, or uninstall the app. WakeLens has no app account to delete.

If you contact us directly, we may retain your message and contact details only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, keep support records or meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete that correspondence by using the contact address below.

Protected by your device

WakeLens relies on Android’s app storage and permission controls to protect its local information. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we recommend keeping Android and WakeLens up to date and protecting your device with its available security controls.

A general-purpose alarm

WakeLens is a general-purpose utility and is not designed to collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app does not contain advertising, social features or account creation.

No advertising trackers

The WakeLens landing page and privacy page do not use advertising trackers, analytics services or account cookies. The hosting service may process standard technical request data, such as an IP address, browser information and request time, to deliver the site, provide downloads, maintain security and diagnose faults.

If you follow a link to another service, that destination applies its own privacy practices.

Keeping this page current

We may update this policy when WakeLens features, distribution or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a revised policy is published. Material changes will be described clearly.
